I bought this to put on my desk as I needed a tape dispenser... it sure is cute, but does not cut the tape very well. You have to pull and stretch to cut the tape. And about the 7th or 8th time of pulling and stretching to cut the tape the snail's eye broke off. Junk.

This dispenser is very cute. The blade (even with its wide teeth) cut just fine, but the weight in the base is not heavy enough to keep the dispenser in place when pulling the tape. Two hands needed for use, or plan on preforming some sort of implant surgery to get enough weight to make the product work with one hand.
I honestly gave the product a good try, but I kept dragging the dispenser around the desk when I tried to get some tape.

Snail is pretty cute. I get a lot of comments on "him" at work. Sometimes the tape does not stay in the holder unless you squeeze the sides of the snail. Other than that, I like "him" a lot.

I wanted a tape dispenser that had a bit of fun in addition to function. This is definitely fun, but the function part is limited by the roller that holds the tape popping out of the snail shell when tape is pulled for dispensing. I don't use the tape it holds very often, but if I did on daily basis, it would be annoying.It does have wonderful colors that pop and the stainless steel "eyes" add to its appearance.

I received this as a graduation gift about a year ago, and have been using it since. It's a wonderful tape dispenser, and I haven't had any problems with it, including minor annoyances.
It's precious, functional, and a great conversation piece. Highly recommended for any snail lover--or anyone who just wants a touch of awesome on their desk.
