I don't understand the negative reviews Dec 02, 2007
By D. Kechagias Over a decade ago, back in high school, I had replaced my classic telescopic type desc lamp with a tiny (almost identical to this one) halogen lamp (quite expensive back then), and I didn't look back since!
Last year my girfriend was feeling tired when studying under her classic telescopic desk lamp, so I bought her this lamp (in white) from Amazon and a more expensive halogen with a longer neck from Target. It is this little gem that found a permanent place on her desk. While it looks small even fully extended, when it is placed on her desk it perfectly lights up all her reading area, with very relaxing light, without blinding her.
Why do reviewrs rate it bad, just because it is small? While telescopic mounts are useful for certain applications and working environments, this device proves that a well designed small mount can effectivelly light a typical desk.
Ok, if your idea of a good lamp requires a length of 2 feet (according to a reviewer), I guess you should check the dimensions clearly stated and move along. If you are a designer etc and need a telescopic lamp to move around, look at the picture and move along.
If you want a great yet ridiculously inexpensive desk lamp, you should give this a try.

Great Little Lamp Nov 19, 2007
By S. Kelly
"sk55408"
Between my home and work I have ~ 6 or 7 of these. They perform well, they don't eat bulbs too quickly. They are fairly light weight; if you like your desk appliances to weigh a ton, that is the only thing I can imagine that there could be to dislike about this great little lamp. I you have an Ikea near you I would recommend saving $3 and getting the exact same lamp they call the "Espressivo."

Good for task lighting Sep 02, 2007

I read the other reviews and understand the problems they had with this lamp. It is not a desk lamp! However I use it for my computer keyboard in a fairly dark room and it works great! So, if you want a lamp for task lighting this is a great lamp, but it will not work for a desk lamp, choose something else for that.

Itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot ... desk lamp Jul 17, 2007
By Timothy Jordan The picture of this object is misleading, borderline fraudulent. I expected this item to be a "normal" sized desk lamp (maybe 2 feet in length), but instead I got an item that is 9 inches tall (can be extended to 13 inches). The comment about the TV antennas is completely accurate - I'm guessing the manufacturer had an excess of TV antennas.
I would be more angry if I wasn't so humored by how ridiculously small this light is.
Lesson learned: always look carefully at the "dimensions" of an item, even if you think that nobody would ever make a miniature item of that class of products.

Looks like a tv antenna with a light on it Jul 15, 2007
By R. Moody Take an old set of rabbit ear style antennas put a light on the top and you pretty much have this lamp! But hey it works good, the base is fairly heavy so there is no worries of knocking it over. I wish it was a little taller, and the arms a little stronger but for $10 its not a bad little lamp
