 Looks great but NO water sounds Nov 10, 2008
The only sound I could hear was the motor gently humming. There were no water noises. I tried placing rocks on the different leaf-platforms but that didn't help. The fountain is made of plastic, not copper. The photo is accurate. It is pretty, table-top sized and the lights were nice.
I was so grateful that the Amazon return process was easy.

This product is very cheap. It is made of cheap plastic...don't be fooled by the picture. No matter how you arrange the rocks, you can't make the water sound nearly loud enough to overcome the pump noise. The pump isn't that loud, making it even more surprising that the water noise can't cover it. I took it back!

Motor was very loud and could not hear the water at all. This item was sent back.

I bought this fountain for an office and I am pleased with it and others have commented favorably on it.
It is a brown plastic but it doesn't look cheap in my opinion. The water flows nicely with no splash even on the highest setting. Personally, the way the top spout is lighted when the water comes out reminds me of a flickering candle. The pump is quiet and the water flow sounds like a small, babbling creek.
I was disapointed that there weren't more rocks but that was an easy fix. This fountain is very relaxing and lends a zen-like quality to my space.

I really liked the fountain and received lots of complements on it. The sound isn't too distracting and the pump is really quiet. Everything seemed to work fine when i set it up one afternoon at work. Then when i came in the next day half of the water from the fountain had leaked out the back by where the electric cord comes out.
Not sure if this is an issue most people had or if it was just mine. I took it back and swapped it out for a different style of HoMedics fountain just in fear that i would have the same issue if i got another one.
Wasn't bothered by the Plastic material because it doesn't look bad. What can you expect for under $40?
