 lots more sleep Jan 06, 2009
My fiance and I had trouble sleeping at night. We went to the Dr. and sure, He gave us some pills. I was looking online and found this little machine that sounds like the beach because we both love going to the beach. It sounds so real just like your on the water. We use it every night. I had thought about ordering another one for a back up. Now we sleep just fine.

I got this for our 8 month old when we travel or have guests over. It is great to help drown out an noise and he seems to sleep better with it on.

This puts me to sleep and makes me want to stay in bed every morning. The rain setting is the best. Love it!!

We've been using these machines for about a year and we are now ready for our third, and hopefully last, machine. We've been using it for our 17 month old and he loves it. As soon as I turn it on, he starts sucking his fingers and gets himself ready to sleep. Yes, you can hear where the sound repeats, it is actually a pretty short snippet that repeats over and over but that doesn't bother my 17 month old. The biggest problem is that the machine constantly shorts out or something. It will be on one minute and off the next. We live across from a school so it frustrates me when it stops working during his nap right around the time that school gets out. We've already been through 2 of these and I'm on Amazon looking for a new, different white noise machine now. I'm hoping that he'll adjust to a new machine since he's so used to this one but I refuse to buy another since they just keep breaking.

I actually bought this little treasure as a reward for a cooperative neighbor for unplugging his Bose Reverb speakers, which he would leave on all night as a wall of sound. Needless to say, he almost drove me off my 25th floor terrace. The HoMedic won't totally cut out Manhattan Street noise, but the rain or sea sounds will smooth over the rough edges and lull you to sleep. I had previously opened a much more high end version of a sound machine from Sharper Image. It had more choices than you'd need to do sound effects for a production of "King Lear" but stopped working in just over twelve months. For three times the price of the HoMedic, I might add! I've had my HoMedic Sound Spa for over three years and it's still going strong. Love it. Love the company.
