Fantastic fun gift for an office environment. May 29, 2010
Great gift. No, fantastic gift! All my co-workers are stopping by and asking where did I get it. It used to be my neighbor, the next cubicle who they love to say hello. All she has is a jar of candies on top of her desk - no fair. But now I got this butt station. They don't ignore me now like I stink or something. Who says tape dispenser can't be fun?
The butt station is made of quality thick plastic. Not the hard type but somewhat flexible. It is made up of 2 parts: The sitting figure which is the tape dispenser, and the toilet bowl for paper clips and a pen. The tape dispenser is surprisingly useful. I thought it will be just a novelty item that will sit on my desk as a mere decoration. It has a good grip, the cutter is on its feet and provide easy cutting for portions of tapes. Replacing a roll is also as easy as replacing a roll of toilet paper. Its butt is magnetized. No metal part is exposed yet strong enough to lift several paper clips from the bowl.
The thing that I don't like is that it is kinda light and tend to tip over. If the bowl is weighted at the base it would be perfect.
As the other reviewer said, good but... May 24, 2010 The other reviewer hit it right on the head.
Biggest problem is the tape dispenser, the way it is positioned is not just that it's not close enough to the feet, but it is angled. So the flat piece before the teeth is actually angled so that the tape will NOT touch it, thus holding it in place when you pull the tape against the cutters. So you have to touch the tape there to make sure it sticks and is held.
And all my pens stick out on one side since, as noted, the mouth doesn't hold wide pens. So my little guy looks almost like someone shot an arrow and there's just a little bit sticking out one side, the rest hanging way out the other side.
Haven't done the paper clip thing.
But at least for me I didn't get it to be a great replacement for everything, I just got it as a whimsical item to sit on my desk. That it has any function at all only adds to its charm.
So 4/5 from me, since it at least DOES what it purports, just doesn't really to an outstanding job...
funny Mar 30, 2010 this is a great funny functional artwork for your desk at work. nice conversation piece. i love it!!
Cool idea Jan 22, 2010 I got this as a semi gag gift for a secret Santa in the office and she loved it. The only issue is the part at the feet that is suppose to cut tape well apparently it doesn't and you have to find the right size spool to fit it. Either way it got a good laugh and it is something to see on somebody's desk everyday to break up the monotony.

Cute but(t)... Oct 26, 2009 I got it because I wanted to clean up my desk and consolidate all the tools. This is definitely a cute product. Clever and fun. It does (almost) everything, BUT doesn't do any of them well. "Almost everything" because it would be nice to include a stapler. The pen holder is very small, and is not designed for fat pens. The post-it note holder is good, until your pad is half-way through and too thin for the holder. There's a magnet on his butt to pull up the paper clips; however, it pulls up all the paper clip at once, and it's hard to set him back down cuz the paper clip will get in the way. AND small paper clips only. The biggest weakness is the tape dispenser. The spool is too small for a standard size Scotch tape, so the tape spins too easily. The toothed cutter is not sharp enough or close enough to the edge, so it's definitely a two hand job to get the tape.
My scores (out of 10):
As a pen holder: 6
as a post-it holder: 7
as a paper-clip dispenser: 7
as a tape dispenser: 5
overall: 6
