Made out of junk - not worth the cost. Dec 08, 2009 Typically, these work right out of the box. Once you hang them, they seem to do okay. But if you want to hang them, take them down and store them, then use again - forget it. Instead, just take them down and throw them in the trash. We used to have a set for the holidays and another set for all other seasons (6-8 each).
They are made so poorly though that every time we store them (even though carefully repacked in the original boxes with all styro-foam inserts), we lose up to 75%. For instance, we just pulled out the Christmas orbs and only 1 out of 7 works. Even though they all worked when they were packed away.) These used to be pretty cheap ($7 -> $10 each) so I didn't mind taking a bit of a hit on them, but at $25 plus - someone must be smoking crack. They are so cute when they're working well, but not worth a single season at this price. Save your cash. Plenty of other ways to decorate at a fraction of the cost.
I love my Blue Christmas!! Dec 28, 2008 I purchased 2 of these spheres and hung them indoors, one in each doorway between my livingroom ... to the entry and diningroom. They give off such a warm, inviting glow. When I was growing up we always had all blue lights on our Christmas trees. These spheres brought back such wonderful memories of Christmases of long, long ago. My grandkids (ages 4 and 21 months) absolutely loved them! The 4 year old "helped" me hang them. Such a big boy! I will purchase more for other holidays.
Although they are advertised as Indoor/Outdoor lights, I don't think I'd hang them outdoors here in the Northeast in the winter. With the wind, snow, sleet, etc. I'm afraid they wouldn't stand up to the weather. They hang on a long string (which is adjustable), but the globes around the lights are plastic. Right now we are in the midst of a wind storm. If I had hung them outside, I don't think they would have withstood the storm. The string is sturdy enough. But if the sphere had banged into the porch I don't think it would have survived. That being said, I think it would be great for holidays during other times of the year ... Easter, 4th of July, etc.
Look great, when they work Nov 27, 2008 I bought three of the 150 light spheres last year, but now one of them has about a third of the lights out and I can not for the life of me find the problem bulb. Look great when they work though.
Bethlehem Lighting Indoor/Outdoor Mega Starlight Sphere 150 Lights, Blue Feb 27, 2008 Beautiful lights shaped like a Xmas tree decoration. Shipment completed quickly. I was completely happy with purchase.
Bethlehem sphere light Jan 07, 2008 Survived the winter weather. All lights remained lit. I hung it from a shepherd's hook where a plant usually is in the summer.
