Festive Apr 20, 2007
By Jeffrey S. Alek The bulbs are covered w/ large vinyl chilis, so the light is diffuse and warm. Great for parties, hanging off the deck or near a bar. Bulbs are your standard Xmas type, and easy to replace. Seems like a safe product as well, I am not concerned w/ them on overnight. Indoor and outdoor use, made in China.

I BOUGHT 2 OF THESE TO GO WITH 2 STRINGS OF CHILI PEPPER LIGHTS TO FINISH THE LOOK AROUND MY FRONT DOOR, ALSO USED GARLANDS OF SUN FLOWERS. LOOKS GREAT DAY AND NIGHT WHEN THEY ARE LITE. I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT ALL OF THIS CONNECTING, WORKED OUT FINE. THESE ARE QUALITY LIGHTS. AMAZON HAD BUY 3 GET 1 FREE AND FREE SHIPPING, SO THE PRICE WAS GREAT. I CHECKED PRICES FOR THESE CLUSTER FOR AWHILE. THIS WAS THE BEST DEAL ANYWHERE. WAS IN NEED OF MORE LIGHTING AT NIGHT, THESE ARE GREAT, VERY FESTIVE ALWAYS. THANK YOU AMAZON!

CHILE RISTRA Dec 22, 2009
By Amy Wrong

The proper title for this item (were it made from REAL chiles) is a CHILE RISTRA. I find myself chuckling uncontrollably at the term "chili pepper cluster"!!
I am a thirty-something caucasian female who was born and raised and still lives in New Mexico. I don't suppose the people at amazon.com or even the manufacturer of the item are aware of the term "chile ristra", but that is what this is... just an educational tidbit for all you non-southwesterners out there. Yes these are "chili peppers" but the correct way to spell it in NM, and hopefully soon around the nation, is CHILE. And yes, that comes from the Spanish langauge.
CHILI is something you eat that contains meat and sometimes beans (depending on whether or not you are from the great state of Texas, LOL), onions, spices like cumin, and, yes, CHILI POWDER. Chili is what you put on your hot dog! (hence, CHILI dogs, or, perhaps "coneys".) CHILE is what you put on your enchiladas, your green chile cheeseburger, or hang on your front porch in the form of a RISTRA. FELIZ NAVIDAD everyone!

Bethlehem lights Jan 04, 2008
By L. Menard I'm returning these lights. They are much smaller than I thought they would be plus they are very cheaply made. I would never hang these on my patio!
